UFSM offers graduate programs in a wide range of knowledge areas. To be eligible for admission as a degree-seeking graduate student (i.e., master’s or doctoral programs), students must hold a university degree. The Provost Office for Graduate Studies and Research (PRPGP) oversees the management, implementation, and approval of all admission processes for graduate programs. For specific queries regarding calls for applications, please reach out to the Center for Graduate Admissions and Scholarships at +55(55)3220-8214 or via email at editais.cpg@ufsm.br.
What is it?
The regular admission for graduate programs at UFSM is made through calls for applications. There are usually two per year, one in the middle of the year, to enter the first semester of the following year, and the other at the end of the year, to enter the second semester of the next year.
How to apply?
Calls for applications are published on: https://www.ufsm.br/pro-reitorias/prpgp/editais/. The application fee for a master’s or doctoral program is R$ 150, and there are no additional fees because the master’s and doctoral programs at UFSM are tuition-free. In case you are approved, you can compete for a scholarship of R$ 2,100 (master’s) or R$ 3,100 (doctoral). The application fee for a specialization program is R$ 150, and monthly fees may vary by program.
Please note that not all programs offer calls for applications twice a year. Therefore, we recommend visiting the PRPGP website, which provides contact information for each of the graduate programs.
