UFSM offers Graduate courses in various areas of knowledge. To be eligible for admission as a degree-seeking graduate student (i.e., master’s or doctoral programs), students must hold a university degree. Admission to UFSM’s Graduate Program is the responsibility of the Provost Office for Graduate Studies and Research (PRPGP), overseeing the management, implementation, and approval of all admission processes for graduate programs. For specific queries regarding calls for applications, please reach out to the Center for Graduate Admissions and Scholarships at +55 55 3220 8214 or via email at editais.cpg@ufsm.br

There are two pathways to enter stricto sensu graduate programs at UFSM: Selection Processes and Cooperation Agreements.

Selection Process

Selection process takes place through calls for applications. There are usually two calls for applications per year, one next to the middle of the year, to enter the first semester of the next year, and the other next to the end of the year, to enter the second semester of the next year. The application fee costs R$ 150.00, and there are no additional fees because the master’s and doctoral programs at UFSM are tuition-free. In case you are approved, you can compete for a scholarship of R$ 2,100.00 (master’s) or R$ 3,100.00 (doctoral). Please notice that not all programs offer calls for applications twice a year. Therefore, we recommend accessing the PRPGP website, which lists the stricto sensu programs available at UFSM and provides contact information for each. Calls for applications are published on: https://www.ufsm.br/pro-reitorias/prpgp/editais/
